Who Can Join the American Legion?
Membership in the American Legion is available to eligible veterans who served honorably in the United States Armed Forces.
Applicants must provide documentation confirming their military service and discharge status. A DD Form 214 is the most commonly accepted document, although other official military records may also be considered.
Eligibility is based on American Legion membership requirements and the applicant’s military service record. A Post officer can review your documentation and help determine whether you qualify.
